What

This environmental park with allow visitors to experience “Eco-zori”. A mix of traditional Japanese "Origami" or "Zori" with Western influences. It’s a new Eco concept -- using old clothes or paper bags and magazines for recycling and then turning them into beautiful works of art. "Eco-zori" became popular during the recycle movement in Japan. Artists and artisans would weave flat sandals out of worn clothes that were old fashioned shoes invented 1,000 years ago and totally disappeared for about 300 years ago. However, people recognized the benefit of Zori in these days, healthy, useful, and particularly for recycle. Also Origami is very traditional culture from Japan as well. We use this method to create some creatures (butterfly, beetles, etc,) using shopping bags or magazine papers. I am going to demonstration how to make Origami or Zori and let visitors make it too. Then I would like to put visitor's works on the weaved curtain where will be set up on the back to make green and peaceful world at the site.
